Religion, like the rest of Williamsburg County, has a cherished history. Perhaps no other concept is as deeply rooted in the local culture as religion.

Today in Williamsburg County, freedom to worship is still believed to be one of the most important gifts of our heritage. We have over 50 churches, old and new of many different denominations. As local churches provide an opportunity to grow spiritually as well as fellowship with others, all visitors, newcomers, and residents are encouraged to worship at the church of their choice.
